Tropical Depression Likely Forms Today or Tonight
An area of showers and thunderstorms located over the eastern Atlantic has increased in organization. Ocean conditions are favorable for development, and a tropical depression could form as early as this afternoon.
If it becomes a tropical storm, it would be named Josephine.
The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 90% chance of becoming a cyclone within the next 48 hours.
