Laura Quickly Weakening, Widespread Flash Flooding Ongoing
5PM UPDATE: LAURA NOW HAS 50 mph winds, and is entering Arkansas. All other details are the same.
Several inches of rain are possible in Louisiana and Arkansas, with storm totals of 15 inches in some places.
Winds are now at 65 mph, and a Laura is 65 miles east-northeast of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Laura should turn to the northeast this evening and become a tropical depression this evening or tonight.
A turn towards the east-northeast is expected tonight, and Laura will likely become an extratropical cyclone Friday or Shabbos.
The water levels along the coast will continue to subside through the evening.
