Tropical Depression #11 To Become Tropical Storm Tonight

 Tropical Depression #11 is expected to develop into Tropical Storm Josephine tonight, with continued strengthening expected for the next couple of days.

11 is expected to peak in wind speeds between 48 and 72 hours, before it weakens as it moves into less favorable conditions. Many forecast models show it becoming a remnant low pressure system in days 4-5, but the NHC is sticking to it being weak but a cyclone. "...several of the global models continue to forecast the cyclone to degenerate to a tropical wave before 120 h[5 days]. The new intensity forecast again expects the system to last longer than the global models, but still shows weakening...", the NHC said in their 5pm discussion.

No other disturbances are present in the Atlantic. In the eastern Pacific, there are three disturbances which are expected to become tropical depressions over the next several days. Tropical Storm Elida should dissipate by tomorrow.
