Laura To Quickly Intensify To Major Hurricane Strength
Laura became a hurricane only an hour after our last publication.
Winds are at 75 mph, and steady to rapid strengthening is expected over the next 24 hours.
Laura should become a major hurricane by Wednesday evening, with some small weakening possible for a few hours just before landfall.
The cyclone should make landfall in Upper Texas or southwestern Louisiana. After loving north in those areas late Wednesday and Thursday morning, it will turn to the northeast later Thursday through the weekend.
Impacts locally, in Baltimore, are possible over the weekend. Please refer to posts on local forecasts, the latest of which is found by clicking here.
