Zeta Rapdily Strengthening

Zeta is quickly intensifying, and "Zeta is forecast to become a hurricane this morning, and continued strengthening is likely until Zeta moves over the Yucatan peninsula this evening", the National Hurricane Center said early this morning. 

With the current rate of intensification, the cyclone could easily top the current official forecasts. It may become a category 2 or even approach category 3.

Zeta should move inland over the Yucatan Peninsula this evening and emerge in the Gulf Tuesday morning. 

Restrengthening is expected over the southern Gulf, but some weakening is likely over the cooler waters of the Northern Gulf. 

Still, plenty of rain and wind is likely in and near Alabama/Mississippi.
