Zeta Moving Inland Over Mississippi, Lots Of Rain Locally
Zeta strengthened in the hours before landfall, becoming a category 2 hurricane with 110 mph winds. Landfall occurred around 5pm in southeastern Louisiana.
Winds are now down to 90 mph, and expect Zeta to continue to weaken.
Zeta should accelerate norheastward through the Tennessee Valley tonight and through the Mid Atlantic tomorrow.
Locally, rain will begin around 2am tonight, continuing through Thursday night. 2-3 inches of total rainfall is likely, and a Flood Watch is in effect from 5am to 11pm Thursday.
High temperatures will be in the mid 50s Thursday, but only near 50 on Friday. Expect breezy conditions on Friday under clearing skies. Shabbos will be 50 under sunny skies with highs near 60 on Sunday.
Zeta should move off into the Northwestern Atlantic later Thursday as a post tropical cyclone.
