Zeta Moving Over Southeastern US, Potentially Flooding Rains Locally

Zeta is racing norheastward over the southeastern United States at 39 mph.
Zeta should become a non-tropical low pressure system today, but with winds of 20 to 30 mph still present.
Locally, rains in advance of and from Zeta will continue through tonight.

Expect 2 to 3 inches of rain in total. Between 1/3 and 1/5 of an inch fell so far, until 7:15am.

A Flood Watch remains in effect all day today.

"Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth", the National Weather Service advises.

Remember: "Stay away or be swept away!"

Zeta will move into the Atlantic by tonight while joining another low pressure system.
An area of low pressure should form in the Caribbean in the next few days. Gradual development thereafter is possible.

If a tropical storm forms from this, it would break the record for the most storms formed in any season (28).
