Update: Local Impacts From Delta
Here is a rundown on the latest forecast of the impacts from Hurricane Delta.
Forecast models are starting to converge on track and timing, but there is still some spread.
At this point, rain on Shabbos is not expected. Motzei Shabbos should also be dry. It will be cloudy though.
Rain could arrive Sunday morning, but more likely Sunday afternoon.
The bulk of the rain will be Sunday night.
Monday should bring some more showers, possibly ending by the evening.
The latest forecast from the Weather Prediction Center calls for around 2 inches of rain in our area. Some models indicate widespread totals closer to an inch, with isolated 2 inch totals.
Most models show "most of the area expected to receive at least an inch" of rain, the National Weather Service said in their forecast discussion this afternoon.
"[The] Most likely impacts for the area would be pockets of locally heavier rain."
Details regarding a more exact timeline and level of impact will become clearer in the next 24 hours.
Due to Yom Tov, we won't be able to get any updated information past Friday afternoon before the rain event begins.
