We have another couple depressions expected to form over the next few days, in a continuation of the extreme activity this year.
Peak hurricane season is in early-mid September, so this isn't too unusual.
First off, a depression should form just south or west of Florida over the next few days.
According to a recent outlook by the National Hurricane Center, "Shower and thunderstorm activity located over the northwestern and central Bahamas and the adjacent waters continues to shows signs of
organization."
"It could become a tropical depression while it is near South Florida
tonight. But if not, the disturbance is expected to become a
tropical depression while it moves slowly west-northwestward over
the northeastern Gulf of Mexico this weekend and early next week."
Over the northern Gulf, marked as a yellow 'x', is another area of disturbed weather. Gradual development of this system is possible.
The red x on the right is a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Development is expected, and a tropical depression should form this weekend.
To the right of that is an orange x, denoting another area of showers. Conditions could support development, and a tropical depression could form over the next several days.
The next tropical storm would be called Sally, followed by Teddy.
After those are Vicky and Wilfred.
