Depression Could Form Late This Week
UPDATED
8PM THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1
The disturbance will likely become a tropical depression, as long as it stays over water. It appears to be developing already. But if it moves over land, it likely won't develop. A second disturbance could gradually develop over the Caribbean next week.
A depression could form late this week in the southwestern Caribbean Sea.Noted as an orange circle in the image, a low pressure area should form in the next few days. Development thereafter is very possible, and the National Hurricane Center gives it a 50% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone.
If it reaches tropical storm strength, it would be called Gamma.
