Paulette To Be Hit Bermuda Hard on Monday
11pm Update: Paulette is a hurricane with 75 mph winds, 385 miles southeast of Bermuda.
Tropical Storm Paulette is only 400 miles from Bermuda, with 70 mph.A Hurricane Hunter aircraft is investigating Paulette, and better data will be available sometime tonight.
Paulette should become a hurricane tonight and continue strengthening. It should be near or just at major hurricane strength with winds of around 110 mph when it crosses Bermuda on Monday morning.
After bringing several inches of rain and several feet of rain, Paulette will then move over open waters.
"A dangerous storm surge is expected to produce significant coastal flooding on Bermuda in areas of onshore winds. Near the coast, the surge will be accompanied by large and destructive waves", the National Hurricane Center is advising.
