Sam To Pass East of Bermuda Tonight and Tomorrow
Hurricane Sam is, as of 5am, 450 miles south-southeast of the island of Bermuda. Winds are at a whopping 150 mph.
Though Sam is expected to gradually weaken over the next few days, it will remain a potent storm through the weekend.
The core of Sam will remain well east of Bermuda, but tropical storm force winds (39 to 74 mph) are expected on the island tonight and tomorrow.
In related news, Tropical Storm Victor formed over the eastern Atlantic. There is no threat to land.
