Friday, December 23: Arctic Blast
A very powerful Arctic blast will bring some of the coldest weather we have seen in years.
Temperatures will be sliding into the 30s between 8am and 9am, and then rapidly drop into the 20s by 10am. Rain is expected prior to the drop, with snow or a wintry mix likely following it, ending by 10:30am.
The rapid drop and moist surfaces, especially with ongoing precipitation after the temperatures drop, may lead to icy roads and sidewalks. Plan ahead for extra travel time and watch your step when walking.
Winds will be gusting up to 50 mph during the day, with gusts up to 55 mph possible mid morning. These winds will create a very cold feel, with wind chills of -5 this evening and -10 at daybreak Shabbos morning. Temperatures will be near 13 this evening and around 6 degrees Shabbos morning.
Shabbos will be near 20 with a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will be gusting to 30 mph, keeping wind chills near and below 0. Sunday will be near 26 and mostly sunny.
Monday will be near 30 and mostly sunny, with Tuesday near 36 under sunny skies. Wednesday will be near 38 and mostly sunny, with Thursday near 44.
